Luxman LV-104U / LV-105U
/ LV-107U
by James Leahy
How many Luxman LV Series amplifiers are
there out there in Australia?
I sure don't know the answer to that
question but there are a lot.
Hardly a month goes by without someone
asking me to repair one.
They can be brought up to A1 performance
levels with a freshen up and a general service.
The unit featured in the pictures below had
a defective output fault in the right channel.

The 6CG7 / 6QF7 vacuum tubes in the gain
stage tested fine so they were left as they were.

A general clean-up of the RCA sockets
will provide trouble free electrical contact for many years to come.

On this unit the bias adjust and servo
controller boards need a once over to refresh all tracks and contacts.

A very nice sounding unit when fully
rebuilt.

The output was replaced on both channels
with EXICON MOSFETs as an additional up-grade.
If you are going to do a rebuild, insist
on doing it right and replace
all the output modules with matched and graded components.
